KUCHING: A storage unit went up in flames at Jalan Sungai Apong yesterday. A spokesman from the state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said personnel from the Padungan fire station were deployed following a distress call received at 2.45pm.
They were later assisted by Tabuan Jaya fire station firefighters, in which the fire was put out shortly after.
Separately, a vacant house caught fire along Jalan Kolong Batu 2, Matang, Kampung Sagoh-Singai yesterday.
The department received the distress call at 2.45pm, to which Petra Jaya firefighters were rushed to the scene to extinguish the flames.
