Store room fire swiftly contained, leaves woman with minor burns

BINTULU: A local woman suffered burns on her back following a fire that broke out in the store room of a house at Phase 4, RPR Tanjung Kidurong here early this morning.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the injured victim received initial treatment from paramedics at the scene before being taken to the hospital for further medical care.

She sustained one per cent burns in the 7:33 am incident.

Firefighters from Kidurong station were dispatched to the scene following a distress call.

However, upon arrival, they found that the blaze was already extinguished by members of the public.

The fire, which affected a store room near the kitchen, caused an estimated 10 per cent damage to the room.

Firefighters took over the scene to conduct overhaul works to ensure no potential reignition before ending the operation.
