KUCHING: Newly elected Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice president Datuk Len Talif Salleh aims to strengthen the party’s leadership while nurturing young leaders for the future.

His vision aligns with Premier and PBB president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s leadership transition efforts.

“I am already in my 70s, and I want to ensure continuity in the party’s leadership.

“With my experience in politics, government departments, and agencies, I see my role as helping to develop the next generation of leaders,” he said when met at his office at Wisma Sumber Alam today (Feb 18).

The Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment explained that this initiative would further support Abang Johari’s agenda of providing a platform for young leaders to eventually take over.

He also expressed gratitude to the delegates for placing their trust in him as their new vice president and hoped that unity within PBB would remain strong for the future of Sarawak.

When asked about his focus after the 16th PBB Triennial General Meeting (TGM), Len affirmed his commitment to his ministerial duties.

“I will continue to perform my duties in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development, along with my other responsibilities.

“This election result will not change my approach but rather strengthen my efforts to serve Sarawak.

“It is a matter of pride, but at the same time, my responsibilities remain the same,” he said.
