KUALA LUMPUR: A strong earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale struck the southern Philippines at 11.03 am today.
In a statement, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) reported that the quake occurred at a depth of 67 kilometres, approximately 129 kilometres southeast of Bislig, Philippines.
MetMalaysia confirmed that the earthquake poses no tsunami threat to Malaysia. – BERNAMA
