SIBU: Around 400 members of the public participated in the Grolite Blood Donation Drive & Wellness Day, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme organised by Grolite at its office along Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman today.

Grolite Group Director Sandra Song said the programme reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to give back to society, regardless of status or background.

“Everyone needs blood, and we never know what may happen when it comes to health. This programme benefits everyone, which is why we’ve chosen it as our annual initiative,” she said when met by reporters at the fifth edition of the event, held from 9 am to 2 pm under the theme ‘Give Life, Gain Health’.

Commenting on the public response, she noted that feedback has been consistently positive over the years, with 130 individuals pre-registering as blood donors this time.

She also expressed gratitude to JSP (E.M) Bone Alignment for providing free spinal alignment services targeting the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar areas.

“This is our first collaboration with them. All proceeds collected from today’s services will be donated to Destiny for Children Sibu.

“As part of our CSR initiative, Grolite will also contribute through one-to-one match funding for this programme,” she added.

Other health-related activities included blood pressure checks, glucose testing, body composition analysis, and eye screenings provided by the Public Medicare Group (PMG).

The first 100 blood donors also received vouchers, mystery gifts, exclusive merchandise, and complimentary barista-brewed coffee from Outright Coffee.

During the event, Grolite presented free T-shirts to the Sibu Hospital Blood Donation team as a token of appreciation for their dedication in maintaining an adequate blood supply for the people here.

Sandra concluded by inviting the public to take part in their upcoming blood donation programme on August 24.
