MARUDI: Strong winds and heavy rain tore off the roof of a nine-door longhouse in Ulu Teru, here, forcing one family to seek shelter with neighbours.

The incident, which happened at Rumah Henry Gomes in Kampung Mission, occurred at about 5.20 pm on Tuesday (Sept 23).

No injuries were reported.

The Beluru District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) received a distress call from a member of the public at 8.32 am today. Within minutes, a four-member Civil Defence Force (APM) team, led by L/Kpl. (PA) Lydia Nagi Keyai, was dispatched to the scene in a Nissan Navara.
