SELANGOR: Sarawak Tribune and Suara Sarawak reporters are off on their mission to provide full coverage of the ongoing 22nd Malaysia Games (SUKMA XXII) here.
Reporters Gabriel Lihan and Faizal Bujang are among 9 media representatives who embarked on the 12-day assignment beginning Aug 12 to 24.
Other media personnel representing Sarawak include those from The Borneo Post, Utusan Borneo, Utusan Sarawak, Sin Chiew Daily and TVS.
For Gabriel, this marks his second time covering SUKMA events.
“Exciting to cover SUKMA again, looking forward to the intensity and emotions of the matches,” Gabriel said.
As for Suara Sarawak senior sports reporter Faizal, this will be his 11th time covering the coveted sports event.
“I look forward to seeing our athletes perform and sharing good news with the people back home,” he added.
This edition of SUKMA will see a total of 37 sports being contested involving 474 events.
The events are set to take place around Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.
The Sarawak Contingent is led by Chef de Mission and Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu.
