SIBU: A 16-year-old student sustained head and body injuries after being hit by a Toyota Hilux while crossing the road in front of SMK Tung Hua along Jalan Tun Haji Openg here on Friday (Mar 13).
Acting Sibu police chief Supt Boniface Bajai said the district traffic investigation and enforcement division received a report on the accident at about 12.50 pm.
“The victim sustained injuries to the head and body and was taken to hospital for further treatment.
“Following the incident, an investigation paper has been opened and the case is being investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959,” he said in a statement.
Boniface advised all road users to comply with traffic regulations and remain cautious while on the road.
