SIBU: A Form 2 student survived a fall from the second floor of a secondary school building here on Monday (June 12).

Sibu OCPD ACP Zulkipli Suhaili confirmed receiving a report from Sibu Hospital at about 7am regarding the incident.

“After conducting investigations at the scene, the Crime Investigation Division of IPD Sibu determined that the 14-year-old victim fell from the second-floor balcony of the secondary school.

“Fortunately, he landed on the roof of a pedestrian walkway on Level 1,” he said in a statement.

The boy was rushed to Sibu Hospital. Although the extent of his injuries is currently unknown, ACP Zulkipli stated that his condition is stable.

In light of the incident, he urged the public not to speculate on the matter.
