SIBU: A total 100 primary school students from the Matu area participated in the inaugural ‘Knowledge Camp’ programme organised by Pustaka Negeri Sarawak (Pustaka) Sibu recently, in collaboration with Fire Brigade and Rescue (Bomba) Daro Station held at Rangkesao, Kuala Matu.
Among the participating schools were SK Camporan Daro, SK Hijrah Badong, SK Sok Matu, SK Kampung Kut and SK Mohd Redeh Sa’ai.
In a press statement, Pusaka Sibu stated that the camp aims to provide early exposure to students on the current 21st century knowledge and skills, in addition to strengthening their ability to access information resources offered by Pustaka.
“This programme also serves to foster leadership skills, improve effective communication and encourage teamwork among participants,” it said.
Among the interesting activities held during the camp include Drone Soccer, Flying Fox, Talent Night, Camp Fire and various activities based on learning and self-reliance.
Also present were the head of the Bomba Daro Station, PBT II Hasman B. Bakar, as well as representatives and headmasters of the schools involved.
