MIRI: A health talk aimed at promoting mental and physical well-being among students was held at Pei Min Secondary School here recently.

The initiative reflects the school’s ongoing commitment to student well-being through a blend of modern and traditional health practices.

Dr Uma delivers the health talk.

The session was led by Dr Uma Devi A/P Rularibalam, Chairperson of the Community Care and Protection Sub-Committee Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Miri Branch.

Dr Uma highlighted the importance of nutrition, lifestyle habits, and stress management in maintaining overall health.

She encouraged students to adopt a balanced diet, stay physically active, and develop healthy coping mechanisms.

Meanwhile, a demonstration of eye acupressure techniques rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), offering practical tips to reduce eye strain and support relaxation was performed by Christina Tang from the Health Centre.

The event concluded with simple stretching exercises to relieve tension and promote mindfulness.
