KUCHING: The three jab centres (PPVs) in the Pantai Damai constituency are able to meet the vaccination needs of the local community there.

The PPVs are the Santubong Health Clinic, Buntal Health Clinic and Telaga Air Health Clinic.

Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Islamic Affairs and DBKU) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said some Pantai Damai residents also received their Covid-19 vaccines at other nearby PPVs.

Among the closest PPVs to the Pantai Damai constituency are the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, Stadium Perpaduan and Kozi Square.

“We are very thankful that more people in our area have received their jabs, at least the first dose,” he said after visiting the Santubong Health Clinic and Buntal Health Clinic PPVs today (June 30).

Dr Abdul Rahman, who is also Pantai Damai assemblyman, said for now, there is no need for a new PPV in his constituency.

“We will consider opening a new one in the future if necessary,” he said.

He added that since the opening of the PPVs in Pantai Damai on June 15, a total of 5,120 residents have been vaccinated.

“In total, almost 24,000 residents in the Pantai Damai constituency are eligible to receive the vaccine,” he said.
