SELANGOR: Siblings Awang Sharzan Nasrin and Dayang Nursharzyra saved their best for last, producing a stunning final dive to clinch mixed 3m synchronised springboard gold for Sarawak at SUKMA XXII Selangor 2026 on Thursday (Aug 20).

The Sarawak duo amassed 235.32 points after five rounds to edge Federal Territory’s Teng Hui Xue and Yong Rui Jie, who settled for silver with 224.13 points. Selangor’s Jainnah and Aeriel Riezqi completed the podium with 216.36 points.

Awang Sharzan and Dayang Nursharzyra made a steady start, collecting 76.20 points from their opening two dives before building momentum with scores of 50.22 and 50.40 in the third and fourth rounds.

Their efforts left them on 176.82 points heading into the decisive final dive, with the gold medal still within reach.

When the pressure was at its highest, the siblings delivered.

Their final dive earned 58.50 points – their highest score of the competition – lifting them to 235.32 points and sealing the gold for Sarawak.

It was a finish worthy of champions, with the siblings producing their finest dive when the title was on the line.
