KUCHING: The official visit of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and Her Royal Highness Tengku Ampuan Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, to Sarawak reflects the close and enduring friendship between the states of Sarawak and Pahang.
The Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi, expressed his deepest appreciation to the royal couple for their visit, hoping it would further strengthen the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between both states while reinforcing national unity.
He also prayed that the visit would bring blessings to the people of Sarawak and inspire greater love, unity and togetherness that underpin Malaysia’s harmony.
“This visit reflects the close and cordial ties between Sarawak and Pahang, which continue to strengthen through administrative, social and cultural cooperation.
“It also symbolises the spirit of unity and understanding between the royal institutions and state leadership in fostering harmony and the well-being of Malaysians as a whole,” he said in a Facebook statement.
This marks the first time Their Royal Highnesses have set foot in Sarawak since the ‘Kembara Kenali Borneo 2023’ programme, when Al-Sultan Abdullah served as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
The four-day visit, which began today, includes the Sarawak-Pahang Friendship Night as well as several official engagements and meet-the-people programmes scheduled in Kuching and nearby areas.
Their Royal Highnesses arrived at the VVIP Terminal of Kuching International Airport (KIA) at noon and were received by Wan Junaidi and Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Also present were Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Deputy Minister Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam and other dignitaries.
