KUCHING: The soon-to-be-launched Sungai Bintangor Bridge is set to become a new catalyst for smoother traffic flow and improved connectivity for communities in the area, while also strengthening Kuching’s urban mobility network.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas carried out an inspection of the final full rehearsal ahead of the official launching ceremony scheduled for tomorrow (Aug 5), which will be officiated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Uggah said the RM50.67 million bridge is one of the Sarawak government’s high-impact infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing the city’s road network as part of a broader development agenda for the Kuching region.

The project is fully funded by the Sarawak government and implemented by Global Eco BBR Joint Venture Sdn. Bhd., with technical design and supervision provided by Jurutera TCS Sdn. Bhd. and JKR Kuching Division.

Uggah expressed confidence in the readiness of all involved, including contractors and relevant agencies, as the opening day approaches.
