SEBAUH: The Sungai Binyo Steel Bridge project here has achieved 92.31 percent completion, edging closer to fulfilling the locals’ aspiration for improved connectivity.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the RM15 million 75-metre bridge is expected to be fully completed by October.
“This is a commitment and collaboration we can be proud of in delivering development for the well-being of the rakyat,” he said when met after visiting the project site here yesterday (Sept 15).
During the visit, Uggah said the access road to Rumah Entiri, here will be repaired starting next month.
He added that, in line with the Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s mandate, the Public Works Department (PWD) has been tasked with repairing logging roads and upgrading them into state roads so they can be maintained using the Malaysia Road Records Information System (MARRIS) funds.
“Next year, we hope repairs of the identified logging roads can be carried out to facilitate travel for road users from both rural and urban areas,” Uggah said.
