SPAOH: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas has released 1,500 Mystus (Ikan Baung) and 130 Barramundi (Ikan Siakap) fries into Sungai Paku.
According to him, Sungai Paku is known for its bountiful supplies of local fish species notably the ‘Bulu’, ‘ Baung’, ‘Leko’, and others.
“As these are standard items sold now and then at the wet market, today, the river had its stock replenished,” he said.
Uggah was presented by Chief Minister’s political secretary Dr Richard Rapu in releasing the fish fries.
He was joined by the Agriculture Department deputy director Ngap Dollah; Betong Divisional Agriculture officer Petrus Kang and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera (PBB) Bukit Saban branch deputy chairman Abang Suhordie Abang Zaini.
