KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Bhd’s net profit rose to RM1.30 billion for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2025 (FY2025) from RM1.15 billion in FY2024, driven by higher revenue and stronger performance across multiple segments.

Revenue for FY2025 increased by 24.5 per cent to RM9.81 billion from RM7.88 billion previously due to improved operating performance across most business segments except for the property development segment.

“The property development segment reported revenue of RM1.45 billion and profit before tax of RM393.9 million for FY2025, representing a decrease in revenue of 26.1 per cent and profit before tax of 13.6 per cent, compared to RM1.96 billion and profit before tax of RM455.8 million in FY2024, respectively,” it said.

For the fourth quarter (4Q) of FY2025, the group’s net profit surged to RM502.35 million compared to RM334.33 million in the same period a year ago.

However, revenue for 4Q FY2025 inched down by 18.8 per cent to RM2.31 billion from RM2.85 billion previously, due to lower contributions from the property development and construction segments.

In a separate statement, Sunway Group’s President, Datuk Anuar Taib, said the group’s record performance underscores its operational excellence and reinforces Sunway’s role as a trusted nation-building partner.

“Looking ahead, economic growth is expected to remain resilient in 2026, supported by stable domestic demand, robust investment activity, and higher tourist spending in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026.

“Against this backdrop, the group’s diverse businesses are well-positioned to capitalise on both structural and cyclical growth opportunities in the country,” he said.

He said Sunway is cautiously optimistic of delivering steady earnings growth in FY2026, driven by promising prospects across all business segments. – BERNAMA
