KUCHING: Thai sensation Superbon Singha Mawynn unified the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Title after securing a unanimous decision victory over Masaaki Noiri in their five-round main card bout in ONE 173 at Ariake Arena, Japan on Sunday.

The featherweight kickboxing champion controlled most of the contest with precise striking, effective range management and repeated head-kick threats that kept the Japanese fighter on the defensive.

Masaaki, however, remained competitive throughout, pressing forward with combinations and low kicks in an attempt to disrupt Superbon’s rhythm.

Both athletes maintained a high pace and pressed on, but the Thai fighter’s cleaner output and sharper counters proved decisive on the judges’ scorecards.

The victory confirms the Superbon as the undisputed featherweight kickboxing champion and marks another key milestone in his return to the top of the division following previous title setbacks.

In a post-fight interview with ONE, he also confirmed his intention to stay in the game for the next 5-10 years, hinting a muaythai comeback with a twist.

“I’m 35 right now, but I’d like to stay in the sport longer – perhaps for the next 5-10 years. And of course, I’m still gunning for a muaythai title shot.

“I’m gonna fight everyone in kickboxing first, and If I beat everyone here, I will make my return to muaythai,” said the undisputed champion, in response to his future in the sport and his unfinished business with muaythai.

As to date, ONE Championship officials have yet to announce his next challenger.
