Supermarket workers prevent major fire at pharmacy

SIBURAN: Swift action by a CCK Supermarket staff helped prevent a fire from spreading at Alpro Pharmacy, Jalan Kuching-Serian early this morning.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Siburan station were dispatched to the scene following a distress call at 6.36 am.

Upon arrival, the fire was found to have involved a computer at the pharmacy’s counter area and an air conditioning unit on the ceiling.

Fortunately, the fire was quickly extinguished by the CCK staff using fire extinguishers before it could spread further.

The team took over the scene to ensure that the fire was fully put out and the area was safe. No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
