KUCHING: SUPP Batu Kawa Service Centre has been distributing pamphlets with information on the types of projects, their dates of implementation and other details for the people to have a better understanding of what the state government is doing for them.
SUPP president Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian said the information would enable the constituents to play a more proactive role in ensuring efficient implementation and delivery of projects.
Among the proposed development projects in Batu Kawa are the installation of street lights and upgrading of roads and drains.
According to the Batu Kawa assemblyman, some of these projects have been approved while others are in the process of tendering.
Dr Sim, who is also the Local Government and Housing Minister has been pushing for the implementation of several approved development projects in Batu Kawa.
He has also proposed for several projects for the fiscal year 2019.
“However, because Batu Kawa constituency is big, effective supervision of projects must involve residents,” he said yesterday.
He said it was his hope that those set to benefit from those projects would liaise with SUPP Batu Kawa Service Centre to ensure project delivery was in order.
He said the service centre could help residents understand the procedures involved in implementing those projects.
