SIBU: The Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bawang Assan mobile service team visited the Kwong Hua area and Jalan Lan Lan on the west bank yesterday to conduct house visits to 13 local households and better understand their needs.

During the visit, they engaged with residents to discuss the issues they were facing.

According to SUPP Bawang Assan chairman Councillor Kevin Lau Kor Jie, many residents reported an improvement in water pressure, with stronger water flow.

“This was due to upgrade works carried out by the engineering department of the Water Board in the area, resulting in a noticeable enhancement in water pressure,” he said in a statement today.

The residents also raised concerns about the need for better street lighting and the clearing of drains to improve their daily living conditions.

“This week, our mobile service team has adopted a house-to-house visit approach.

“On one hand, this allows us to gain first-hand insight into the challenges faced by the residents,” he said.

“We also hope that by engaging with them directly, they will become more familiar with our team so that if they encounter any issues, they can save time and reach out to our community leaders for assistance more efficiently.”

Lau added that the team would continue to provide mobile services in various forms to ensure that residents in the Bawang Assan area who require assistance can receive the necessary support.

He also encouraged residents on the west bank to seek help from local community leaders or report issues to the relevant authorities to facilitate problem-solving.
