MIRI: The Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Miri Piasau Branch has been actively assisting senior citizens in registering and activating their Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS) since January 1.
“Based on office records, from the first week of January 2025 until today, a total of 1,486 senior citizens have visited our office for assistance in registering and resolving issues related to SKAS, Senior Citizen Health Benefit (SCHB), and the Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC).
“In addition to providing assistance at our office, we have also extended our efforts through our Weekly Mobile Service, where we set up booths in various locations to help senior citizens apply for SKAS, SCHB, and KGC, as well as submit appeals where necessary,” said Tourism, Arts and Culture assistant minister Datuk Sebastian Ting in a statement today (Feb 21).
“This initiative ensures that more eligible seniors, especially those facing mobility challenges, can access the benefits they deserve.
“We remain committed to ensuring that senior citizens in Miri receive the necessary support and guidance in securing the welfare assistance provided by the government. We encourage those who have yet to apply for SKAS, SCHB, or KGC to visit our office or our mobile service booths for assistance,” the Piasau assemblyman added.
