SIBU: The community in Bawang Assan has been assured of continuous development to ensure the constituency becomes even more progressive.

Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bawang Assan Chairman, Kelvin Lau Kor Jie, said the party would continue working closely with community leaders and residents to improve services and bring further development to the area.

“On behalf of SUPP Bawang Assan, I assure you that we will continue working closely with community leaders and all of you,” he said.

“Through our strong cooperation, we hope to provide better services to the people and continue bringing development to Bawang Assan, so that it will become an even more progressive constituency while contributing to the continued growth and prosperity of Sarawak.”

Lau was speaking at the presentation of Minor Rural Project (MRP) funds to 28 houses of worship today. Each recipient received RM2,000.

He said the MRP fund contribution was an important initiative to further strengthen the spirit of unity among the people, regardless of race or religion.

“This is the third time we have sought support from the Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian. We are deeply grateful for his unwavering support, particularly for the houses of worship in the Bawang Assan constituency.

“We are proud to know that not only those present here today, but every house of worship in Bawang Assan has long played an important role in building and strengthening our community,” he said.

He also expressed his appreciation to Dr Sim for responding positively to the request for assistance.

“Through this initiative, the Sarawak Government has extended assistance as a gesture of appreciation and recognition for the services and contributions made by all our houses of worship.

“I hope this assistance will support your activities and enable you to continue serving your respective communities,” he added.

Lau also thanked members of the various houses of worship for their dedication and invaluable contributions towards fostering a harmonious community.
