SARIKEI: A woman was arrested for alleged drug abuse after exhibiting suspicious behaviour along Jalan Rentap yesterday (April 2).
According to the Sarikei district police headquarters (IPD), the arrest took place at 10.10 am by a traffic police team conducting ‘Op Motosikal/Op Selamat’.
Police detained the woman after noticing her riding a motorcycle in a suspicious manner.
She was taken to the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (NCID) office, where a urine test returned positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
She was then handed over to the investigating officer for further action.
The case is being investigated under Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
