MUKAH: The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are no longer unfamiliar to the people here, said Dalat and Mukah District Council (MDDM) chairman, Aini Suhaili.
According to him, this is because the goals relate to daily aspects of life such as education, health, environment, employment, and social justice.
“Just like the SDG Fun Fair @ Mukah, it is not merely a celebration, but an occasion to embrace the spirit and principles of the SDGs.
“As the chairman of MDDM, I am proud of this collaborative effort that positions sustainable development as a shared responsibility and a way of life for our community,” he said.
He was speaking during the official launch of the SDG Fun Fair @ Mukah at the Biotech Park here on Friday night.
He further explained that the fair provides an inclusive platform for everyone, regardless of background or age.
“It offers an opportunity for all to better understand and contribute towards our shared goals, especially the SDGs,” he said.
In this regard, he expressed that Mukah is not only rich in culture and natural resources but also has the potential to become a model for inclusive and sustainable community development.
Aini also extended his appreciation to all parties involved in the success of the event.
In conjunction with the event, an SDG Ecofashion Queen Competition was held, featuring 11 participants aged between 7 and 9.
Qhairil Fazmie Afiq was crowned the winner, followed by Sabella Suzanne Sebestio in second place and Ummu Azzahra Mohd Sahrin in third.
Also present were chairman of the MDDM Standing Committee on Community Development and SDG, Councillor Abdul Halim Hamdian, and MDDM secretary, Abdul Razak Awang Bini.
