SIBU: Thanks to the swift action of the Civil Defence Force (APM), the SPM examination at SMK Kwong Hua, Sungai Bidut here proceeded smoothly despite unexpected challenges.
According to Sibu APM officer Major Wan Mohd Jabir Wan Mohd Badrudin, a team of three APM personnel arrived as early as 7am with a three-tonne lorry to assist in transporting those involved.
The transportation effort was also joined by two members of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and two officers from the Sibu District Education Office (PPD).
“A total of two teachers, three examination officers and seven SPM candidates were safely escorted to the school,” he said in a statement today (Jan 13).
The effort came after part of the road leading to the school was submerged in floodwaters, rendering it impassable.
“The operation went smoothly, and all teachers and students safely reached the school,” Wan Mohd Jabir added.
