KUCHING: Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus will be holding a series of Open Day events across Sarawak and Sabah over the next two weekends, whereby prospective students are invited to explore its globally recognised Australian education closer to home.
The event kicks off tomorrow (Saturday, June 7) at Purnama Hotel, Limbang (9:00 am – 2:00 pm), followed by Sunday at Hyatt Regency, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (10:00 am – 4:00 pm).
Next Saturday (June 14), it continues at five venues: Hotel Seri Malaysia, Lawas (9:00 am – 2:00 pm); The Coffee Code, Sarikei (12:00 pm – 4:00 pm); Hotel Meligai, Kapit (9:00 am – 2:00 pm); Hotel Sri Simanggang, Sri Aman (12:00 pm – 4:00 pm); and T4, Sandakan (12:00 pm – 4:00 pm).
The final session will be held on Sunday (June 15) at Richiamo Cafe, Tawau (12:00 pm – 4:00 pm).
Open to the public, especially SPM, STPM, O-Level, A-Level and UEC school leavers, the event offers insights into Swinburne Sarawak’s programmes, modern campus, student life, scholarships and financial aid.
Visitors can meet academic staff and education counsellors to learn about programmes in business, computing, design, engineering, science, media, education and more, including the university’s new Bachelor of Cyber Security and Bachelor of Data Science.
Students can also enquire about Yayasan Sarawak’s BP40 Bursary Scheme and English Enhancement Programme (EEP), both aimed at improving access to higher education.
On-the-spot applications will be accepted, with eligible applicants potentially receiving their Letters of Offer on the same day.
Students should bring their IC or passports, academic transcripts and certificates.
Swinburne Sarawak’s next foundation intake starts on July 7, while diploma and degree programmes commence on September 2.
