KUCHING: Yayasan Bank Rakyat (YBR) has appointed Syaiful Rizal Abdul Ghani as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as part of an internal organisational restructuring strategy.
In a statement, YBR clarified that Syaiful Rizal, who previously served as the foundation’s General Manager, was nominated by the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Ewon Benedict, and approved by YBR’s Board of Trustees.
His appointment as CEO aims to enhance YBR’s performance, efficiency, and integrity.
Over the years, YBR has received various accolades, including the ‘Top Community-Centric Companies in Asia’ award at the ACES AWARD 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand.
“YBR was also named ‘Foundation of the Year’ in the banking category for three consecutive years (2022, 2023, and 2024) and won the Special Category Champion CSR Award at the Bumiputera Business Excellence Award 2023,” it read.
Additionally, YBR was recognised as one of only seven foundations to achieve a perfect score in transparency assessments conducted by WIKI Impact in 2023, out of more than 1,600 foundations evaluated nationwide.
“With this appointment, Syaiful Rizal is expected to lead the organisation, bringing extensive experience in managing educational initiatives and corporate social responsibility programmes,” it said.
