KUCHING: The TABIKA Kemas Kampung Rampangi Phase 1 hosted a vibrant celebration on August 29 to mark Malaysia’s National Day.
The festivities kicked off with a patriotic performance, featuring children singing Malaysia’s national anthem ‘Negaraku’ alongside ‘Ibu Pertiwiku’ and the ‘Jalur Gemilang’ anthem.
“The event saw a meaningful moment with the ‘Bacaan Ikrar’ (Pledge), delivered by Jebat Jaydan Mohd Yussrie, followed by a speech by Awang Mohd Firraz Awang Zainudin commemorating the nation’s achievements,” it said in a press release by TABIKA Kemas Kampung Rampangi Phase 1.
The celebration also included a ‘merdeka’ march to reflect the country’s independence and unity.
Children, dressed in their most creative outfits, participated enthusiastically in the march.
The highlight of the event was the prize presentation for the best-dressed creative outfits in both male and female categories, recognising the participants’ spirit and creativity.
The event wrapped up with a delightful feast offering guests a chance to mingle and enjoy traditional Malaysian delicacies.
“This celebration was a wonderful display of unity, creativity, and patriotism, fostering a strong sense of community among the attendees,” the statement said.
