KUCHING: Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) distributed flood relief aid in a ceremony held at Dewan Hj Kamaruddin Ahmad, Kampung Segedup, Batu Kawa, here.
In a statement issued yesterday (Jan 31), TBS said that the aid was presented by its general manager, Datuk Abang Mohd Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie.
A total of 101 aid packages, consisting of food boxes and bottled water, were distributed to flood victims as part of TBS’ core welfare programme, ‘Program Memantapkan Kebajikan Ummah’.
As of Jan 30, TBS has distributed 1,269 aid packages worth RM87,936.10 to 24 temporary evacuation centres across Sarawak.
In 2024, TBS allocated RM111.70 million to eligible recipients through its four main programmes: ‘Program Mengukuhkan Tradisi Keilmuan’, ‘Program Membangunkan Institusi Islam’, ‘Program Memantapkan Kebajikan Ummah’, and ‘Program Peningkatan Kemahiran Ummah’.
Also present at the event were Kampung Segedup’s village chief, Razanah Mokhtar, along with officials from relevant agencies.
