KUCHING: Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) Kuching Division held its ‘Hari Bersama Pelanggan’ programme in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations at the agency’s headquarters parking compound in Batu Kawa here today (April 16).
The event served as a platform to celebrate customers and asnaf recipients, while strengthening ties between TBS and the local community.
Guests were welcomed by TBS General Manager, Datuk Abang Mohd Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie, who described the programme as a gesture of appreciation for the continued support from zakat contributors, aid recipients, amil officers, as well as government and private agencies, statutory bodies and strategic partners.
Attendees were treated to a variety of festive dishes, accompanied by Hari Raya song performances, adding to the lively and celebratory atmosphere.
Abang Shibli said the ‘Hari Bersama Pelanggan’ programme has been successfully organised across nearly all divisions in Sarawak this year.
“The encouraging response from the public reflects the strong support from the local community towards TBS,” he added.
Service counters were also set up during the event, allowing the public to obtain information on assistance schemes, zakat payment services, and other offerings provided by TBS.
As of March 31 this year, TBS has distributed RM39.68 million to eligible asnaf across Sarawak through its four main programmes.
These include initiatives focusing on strengthening knowledge traditions, developing Islamic institutions, enhancing community welfare, and improving skills among the Muslim community.
