KUALA LUMPUR: Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Hussain has received the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his contributions to Malaysia’s financial services industry.
The award was presented at the BusinessToday Industry Choice Awards 2026, organised by BusinessToday and REACH Publishing Group on Wednesday (Oct 28) under the theme ‘ASEAN and Beyond’.
In his acceptance speech, Abdul Rashid stressed the importance of safeguarding the savings of millions of Muslims who rely on TH to fulfil their haj aspirations.
“We are entrusted with the savings of millions of Muslims. Behind every account is a person, a family and a cherished aspiration to perform the Hajj.
“That trust deserves our utmost care, diligence and commitment,” he said.
The recognition follows TH’s receipt of the Labaytum Diamond Award for haj operational excellence from Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah earlier this year.
It was the institution’s second consecutive win and fifth Labaytum award overall.
Abdul Rashid said the lifetime achievement recognition strengthened his resolve to continue contributing to society.
“There is still work to do, still knowledge to share, still lives we can help change.
“The true measure of a lifetime is what continues to benefit others when our work is done,” he said.
He thanked his family, colleagues, partners and friends for their support throughout his career.
TH also reaffirmed its commitment to operational excellence and serving depositors and haj pilgrims nationwide.
