KUCHING: Students of the Kuching Taekwondo & Self-Defence Club (WTF) put their skills, endurance and discipline to the test during a two-day Taekwondo Upgrading Examination held over the weekend at the club’s training venue in Taman Heritage, Petra Jaya.

The examination involved students across different levels, from beginners to red belt candidates, who underwent a series of assessments to evaluate their technical proficiency, physical endurance and mental strength.

Throughout the grading sessions, participants were required to demonstrate various Taekwondo techniques and complete physical exercises as part of the assessment.

Despite the sultry weather, the club said the examination proceeded smoothly, with arrangements made to ensure participants were able to complete their assessments in a comfortable and systematic manner.

The students also demonstrated discipline, perseverance, confidence and fighting spirit throughout the examination, while putting into practice the core values associated with Taekwondo, including respect, determination and perseverance.

The club expressed its appreciation to Grand Master Tan Check Joon, who served as examiner, for his continued commitment to guiding and motivating the students.

It also thanked the coaches and assistants involved in conducting the examination, as well as parents and guardians for their support, patience and cooperation throughout the two-day programme.

The club’s management congratulated all participants for their commitment and effort in completing the upgrading examination.

It expressed hope that the experience would encourage members to continue training diligently, maintain the discipline and values of martial arts, and work towards further improvement in their Taekwondo journey.
