KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s takaful industry recorded assets of RM62.54 billion as of mid-2025, nearly doubling from RM41.87 billion in 2020, said Malaysian Takaful Association’s (MTA) Chairman, Wan Saifulrizal Wan Ismail.
He said the family takaful segment now has 6.69 million active certificates compared to 4.55 million a decade ago, while total annual contributions surpassed RM9.87 billion.
“Total family takaful claims paid since 2015 amounted to RM45.46 billion as of end-2024,” said Wan Saifulrizal, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Prudential BSN Takaful Bhd.
He added that the growth reflects stronger collaboration among stakeholders in strengthening policy, innovation, and public awareness.
