SARIKEI: Projects approved by the state government such as the road linking Sarikei to Tanjung Manis and Sungai Baji Agropark have long-term benefits, said Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii.
“The projects which are equipped with collection, processing and packaging centre (CPPC) will accelerate development especially in the agricultural sector.
“Sarikei is well-known for its agricultural produce in the state. Thus, the state government has taken a positive step to recognise its potential.

“This is a golden opportunity for the people to take full advantage of,” he added when officiating at the Digital Transformation Week opening ceremony at the Sarikei Innovation Centre(SIC) yesterday.
He explained that the programme was in line with the rapid changes in communication and multimedia.
“This is part of our initiative to enhance awareness to the public about the importance of Information Technology (IT). At least we can guide participants on how to properly use this facility,” he said.
Therefore, he hoped that participants would be able to use the knowledge wisely to develop themselves.
Huang also disclosed that the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) would implement the relevant programmes to accelerate development for the people including those in Repok.
He called on the people to remain united to ensure that all the development plans would be carried out smoothly.
“On behalf of the people of Sarikei, I would like to thank the Chief Minister for his concern about our needs here,” said Huang.
