KUCHING: Sarawakians who received China’s Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines are advised to take Pfizer-BioNTech for their booster shots.

Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian advised those who have been administered the Chinese vaccine for the first two doses to take the Pfizer vaccine for their subsequent booster shots.

He told reporters this after officiating at the Hand and Healthcare Environmental Hygiene Seminar held at CRC Auditorium, Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), here today.

According to KKMNOW website, Sarawak’s first dose vaccination now stands at 88.8 per cent while the second dose is at 86.1 per cent.

Meanwhile, the first booster shot vaccination rate now stands at 56.2 per cent while the second booster shot is 2.2 per cent, mirroring that of the nation at 2.1 per cent.

Touching on COVID-19 management, Dr Sim said the current situation is deemed as manageable.

Dr Sim also reminded the public to remain vigilant despite the opening of borders and living in the new norms.
