KUCHING: Patients and visitors at Klinik Kesihatan Tanah Puteh here can now look forward to a more comfortable waiting experience following the contribution of 10 new four-seater bench chairs.
The initiative, led by Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor, Datuk Wee Hong Seng, was made possible through collaboration between councillors, community leaders and several generous private donors.
The contribution is specifically aimed at improving convenience for the elderly, families with children, and vulnerable patients seeking medical care at the facility.
Wee expressed his appreciation for the strong spirit of collaboration between the public and private sectors in enhancing local public health infrastructure.
“This meaningful contribution goes beyond physical infrastructure; it reflects compassion, social responsibility, and a collective effort to improve the well-being of our community,” he said during the presentation today (Apr 23).

He added that comfortable and accessible public healthcare spaces are essential in ensuring dignity and care for all residents.
The mayor further emphasised that such impactful contributions play a vital role in supporting public health services.
He noted that this effort builds on MBKS’ track record of healthcare support, citing last year’s contribution to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
“This contribution exemplifies how collective action can bring about meaningful improvements in public facilities. MBKS welcomes more partnerships of this nature to continue uplifting the quality of life in Kuching South,” Wee added.
He extended his gratitude to the donors involved, including HS Wee Holdings Sdn Bhd, Ori Pastri Ori Kuching Sdn Bhd, Tay Motor, Eric Tay, Albert Tay, Alex Sim, Kelby Than and Tai Zee Kin.
The initiative aligns with MBKS’ broader goal of promoting a healthy and inclusive city by continuously upgrading public amenities to meet the growing needs of the community.
