SARIKEI: The road infrastructure upgrade at Rumah Panjang Augustine Mat in Tanah Putih, Bintangor, has been successfully completed ahead of schedule under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP).
Meradong Assemblyman, Datuk Ding Kuong Hiin,g praised the RM50,000 project, which was carried out under the supervision of the Sarikei Public Works Department (PWD).
“All project specifications were met, and the work was completed earlier than the original three-month timeline.
“The project began on 26 June, and was expected to be completed by 26 September 2025,” he said during a site visit recently.
He expressed hope that the upgraded road would benefit residents of the longhouse, as the previous wooden planks were already in poor condition and posed safety concerns.
Ding also attributed the early completion to strong cooperation between Sarikei PWD and the appointed contractor, selected through an open ballot process.
He extended his appreciation to both the department and the contractor for their efficiency and commitment in delivering the project ahead of schedule.
