KUCHING: The Sarawak Samarahan Tang Soo Do Association successfully conducted its Tang Soo Do grading and Dan promotion examinations at its headquarters on Dec 14.
A total of 60 students took part, marking the association’s third grading session of the year.
“Of this number, 20 candidates sat for the black belt (Dan) examination, while the remaining 40 undertook grading tests for ranks below black belt, including various coloured belts.
“All participating students successfully passed their respective examinations and were promoted to the next rank,” the association said in a statement issued yesterday.
The examinations are held three times a year and are open to the public, with parents encouraged to witness the process.
The association said it actively promotes Tang Soo Do as a means of enhancing physical fitness, discipline and moral values among its members.
“Students are especially encouraged to compete at the Sarawak and national levels, building friendships through martial arts, expanding their horizons, improving themselves, and cultivating a positive outlook as responsible, contributing citizens and devoted children,” it said.
In addition, students of all levels are guided to take part in public performances, showcasing Tang Soo Do techniques and sharing its philosophy with the community.
The association welcomes people of all ages to learn Tang Soo Do for exercise.
