KUCHING: Tang Ai Na thanked Abdul Aziz Isa, special assistant to Stampin Member of Parliament (MP) Chong Chieng Jen for Aziz’s assistance in helping her to appeal for enrolment to Lower 6 recently.
On the aid of Aziz, Tang is able to continue her studies in Lower 6 that surpassed the closing date (May 24).
According to the Stampin MP special assistant, Tang received her Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) from Sunny Hill School in 2016 and last year, she pursued her studies to German Language Level 3 Certificate and completed the courses on May 4.
She then applied to further her bachelor degree in Leipzig University where she was informed by the university that her application was rejected as she does not have Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM).
Tang contacted the state Education Department to ask for the Lower 6 registration procedure but was told by the department that the registration has closed.
Her father then seeked Aziz for assistance – Aziz wrote a letter to the Malaysian Examinations Council (MPM) to allow Tang to register as a private candidate.
With the help of Chong Chieng Jen and Education Deputy Minister Teo Nie Ching, Tang received an approval letter from the Education Ministry Day School Management Division (BPSH) Director-General Shaari Osman on August 13 – where Tang was allowed to continue her Lower 6 (Science class) studies at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Datuk Patinggi Haji Abdul Gapor.
