BINTULU: Tanjong Batu assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming reaffirmed his commitment to community welfare by personally overseeing the post-flood fogging operation at Gem Park, conducted by the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA).
The recent floods have increased the risk of mosquito breeding, potentially leading to dengue and other vector-borne diseases.
Recognising this, BDA acted swiftly to carry out the fogging operation to ensure a safe and clean environment for residents.
Pang commended the dedication of the BDA team for their hard work in keeping Gem Park safe.
“This step is crucial for public health. However, it requires community support—residents must ensure there is no stagnant water that could become a breeding ground for mosquitoes,” he stressed.
He also urged the community to be more proactive in maintaining cleanliness and eliminating potential breeding sites for Aedes mosquitoes.
“BDA has taken early action, and now it’s our responsibility as residents to continue this effort together.”
Residents of Gem Park welcomed the initiative and expressed hope that this preventive measure would significantly reduce the risk of vector-borne diseases in the area.
