LUNDU: Tanjung Purun in Lundu has been identified as a potential future hub for rice production in Sarawak with efforts underway to transform the area into a key contributor to the state’s food security.
Tanjong Datu assemblyman, Azizul Annuar Pehin Sri Adenan expressed his appreciation to all government agencies involved in advancing the initiative.
“I hope the planned development will not only enhance food security for the state but also generate tangible benefits for the landowners involved,” he said during his address at the Tanjung Purun Agricultural Land Dialogue held at Mahligai Gading Multipurpose Hall yesterday.
Azizul also called on all stakeholders to implement the project with transparency, efficiency and high impact, ensuring the successful realisation of Tanjung Purun as one of Sarawak’s key rice-producing zones.
The dialogue session featured briefings by implementing agencies as well as a question-and-answer session to clarify project implementation and gather feedback from the local community.
