SERIAN: Taragona Titan’s have clinched the 2025 Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn Cup after defeating BB Ladies in a hard-fought women’s football final at Kampung Munggu Kopi here yesterday (Aug 3).
The tournament, which brought together six women’s teams from the Tarat constituency, was part of an initiative to identify and develop emerging talent to represent Tarat in the upcoming Piala Prima Bidayûh, to be hosted in Mambong.
Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn officiated at the event and highlighted the role of sports in building character and unity.
“In any competition, there will be winners and losers, but what matters most is the spirit of sportsmanship.
“I hope that one day, a woman from Tarat will succeed in playing at the national level,” he said.
Taragona Titan’s walked away with a cash prize of RM2,500, along with a trophy and medals. BB Ladies, the runners-up, received RM1,000 and medals.
Third place went to MKGT A, who took home RM700, while Rayang finished fourth and earned RM300. Both teams also received trophies and medals in recognition of their efforts.
