KUCHING: Rising Sarawakian singer Taylor Louise has expressed her deepest gratitude to the Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, and his ministry for supporting her journey to represent Malaysia in an international singing competition in Italy next month.
The 11-year-old had the opportunity to personally thank Abdul Karim during a meeting at his office in Baitulmakmur Building 2 on Tuesday (Feb 11).
In a Facebook post, she wrote that she was deeply honoured and beyond grateful to Abdul Karim and his ministry for making her dream a reality.
“Meeting Uncle YB Karim today was an unforgettable moment — his towering presence is matched only by the kindness and wisdom he shared with me.
“Thank you for believing in a little girl like me and for empowering young Sarawakian talents to reach for the stars,” she wrote.
She added that the incredible support, including covering her expenses to Italy, had lifted a huge burden off her and her parents’ shoulders, allowing her to focus entirely on the competition.
Taylor, who will be competing at the 16th Sanremo Junior World Finals in Italy next month, promised to give her all on stage.
“I will carry your faith and support in my heart as I perform on this international stage. My goal is not just to do my best but to make Sarawak proud.
“Thank you for making this possible — I will definitely do my very best,” she said.
