KUALA LUMPUR: Rising Sarawakian talent Taylor Louise marked a major milestone in her performing journey with her first-ever musical theatre debut in Dreamweaver The Musical, staged at the Petaling Jaya Performing Arts Centre (PJPAC) on Aug 29 and 30.
The production featured three shows across two days, with Taylor taking on the role of Rayna, the only child cast member, performing alongside seasoned theatre professionals.
Her performance drew glowing reviews from audiences and critics, who praised her strong vocals, stage presence and ability to embody her role with maturity beyond her years.
Many also singled her out for her exceptional acting and commanding voice, noting she received some of the loudest applause of the night.
Speaking after the closing show, Taylor described the experience as a dream come true.
“I’m so grateful for this opportunity to be part of Dreamweaver The Musical.
“It has been an incredible learning experience and a dream come true to share the stage with such talented performers,” she said.
This debut came just weeks after her return from London, where she represented Malaysia as the sole Sarawakian performer at the 10th Anniversary ASAF Winner Showcase, held at the Royal College of Music Britten Theatre.
For the 11-year-old singer, Dreamweaver The Musical adds another milestone to her fast-rising journey, which has already seen her shine on international stages in Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Sanremo, Italy.
