MUKAH: A total of 200 boxes of Meal Ready-to-Eat (MRE) basic food supplies were recently distributed to each institution of higher learning (IPT) in the Mukah area.

According to the Sarawak Baitulmal Fund (TBS) Mukah Branch, the aid was directed to selected educational institutions, particularly those with dormitory facilities.

“Among the IPTs involved are Mukah Polytechnic (PMU), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak Branch, Mukah Campus, Sarawak Centre of Technical Excellence (CENTEXS) Mukah, and Sarawak Skills Mukah,” it said in its statement.

Each institution received 200 boxes and may reapply for more if needed, as the annual quota stands at 1,000 boxes.

The objective of the aid is to ease the burden of students in need, particularly those whose basic food needs have been affected due to loss of income or financial hardship.

TBS Mukah Branch expressed hope that many students would benefit from the assistance.
