KUCHING: Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) received business tithe contributions from two corporate agencies, Etiqa Takaful Bhd and Bank Rakyat, here today.
Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaiid Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, were present to witness the handover ceremony at the Astana Negeri Sarawak.
Etiqa Takaful Bhd presented a total tithe contribution of RM1.8 million for the year 2024 which comprises RM700,000 from Etiqa Family Takaful Bhd and RM1.1 million from Etiqa General Takaful Bhd.
The contribution was handed over by Etiqa Family Takaful Bhd Chief Executive Officer, Zafri Abdul Halim, along with several senior officers.
Meanwhile, Bank Rakyat contributed RM1,990,410 in business tithe for the same year.
The contribution was presented by its chairman, Datuk Mohd Irwan Mohd Mubarak.
Both zakat contributions were received by TBS General Manager, Datuk Abang Mohd Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie, and TBS Operations Sector Deputy Head, Mohd Yusree Mohammad Zain.
These tithe contributions reflect the corporate sector’s commitment to support the development of the ummah through the state’s tithe institutions.
