KUCHING: The Chicken Rice Shop (TCRS) has rolled out a nationwide brand refresh and expanded its menu as it marks its 26th anniversary.
The Chicken Rice Shop Restaurants Sdn Bhd deputy general manager Jane Wong said the anniversary refresh reflects the wider range of offerings the chain now provides beyond its signature chicken rice.
The refresh includes a revitalised mascot, refreshed staff uniforms and an updated printed menu, alongside new food offerings and an expanded merchandise range.
New menu items include Boneless Crispy Roast Chicken, Strawberry Kunafa Pai Tee, BBQ Chicken Mayo Pai Tee and Cakoi with Pandan Gula Melaka.
The expanded merchandise range also includes TCRS’ own Sambal Chilli Crunch.
“For 26 years, Malaysians have made The Chicken Rice Shop part of their everyday moments, and we are incredibly grateful for that support.
“This refresh isn’t just about a new look. It’s about showing Malaysians that there’s so much more to discover with us, from new dishes to new ways to bring our flavours home,” she said.
Since opening its first restaurant in 2000, TCRS has grown to more than 160 outlets nationwide.
The company said it remains committed to making its dining experience more accessible by bringing TCRS closer to where Malaysians live, shop and travel.
Alongside the brand refresh, TCRS has launched its annual Merdeka campaign, which will run until Sept 20, 2026.
The campaign features a RM16.90 Merdeka Combo comprising a single portion of steamed, roast or soy sauce chicken, chicken rice, a choice of Keropok Lekor or Penang Rojak, and a 12oz soft drink.
TCRS is also continuing its corporate social responsibility programme, through which it has sponsored more than 7,000 meals annually for orphanages, welfare organisations and nurseries across Malaysia since 2000.
Wong said the anniversary also reflected how the company has continued to develop its offerings over the years.
“Twenty-six years in, we’re still the same Chicken Rice Shop that Malaysians have trusted. We’ve simply found new ways to serve them better, whether that’s through new flavours on our menu or the little ways we give back to the communities that have supported us.”
