KUCHING: Teachers are prepared in conducting face-to-face learning sessions in light of the reopening of schools in Sarawak starting today.
Sarawak Teachers Union (STU) president Adam Prakash Abdullah said the schools are ready to carry out normal schooling session with stringent standard operating procedures (SOPs) in place.
“All teachers returning to the classrooms must protect themselves, follow the SOPs and take care of themselves as well as the students.
“We all have to learn to live with this Covid-19 pandemic and adopt the new norms,” he said in a statement on Sunday.
He also advised teachers and school authorities to report to their respective district education offices of any cases involving their teachers and students and always be mindful of their students.
He also hoped that the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) and the state Education Department would make wise decisions on the opening of schools in unsafe zones.
“It is better to take precautionary measures rather than corrective measures,” he added.
